Fibre Laser Welding machine can produce high energy density welds of very high quality with very small heat affected zone and deep penetration. Low carbon steel, Naval grade steel, High temperature super alloys, Titanium and Stainless steel are important materials which can be welded with laser welding process
High temperature alloys due to its high creep resistance are difficult to weld with conventional welding methods. Laser welding can lead to very precise welding. Heat affected zone in the laser weld is very minimal hence the welded structures can be easily formed or processes.
Ship hull structures and various ship parts of low carbon steel and welding of DMR 249 naval grade steel can be welded by using laser welding techniques. This will result in high quality welds without any defects.
Aluminium and Steel sheets can be laser welded for its application in automobile door panels, body frame structures.
Robotic Laser welding can be used for precise welding of critical components.
Fibre Laser integrated with robotic welding and automated powder feeding leads to 3 D printing or additive manufacturing of biomedical implants.
